I am currently working at a job I despise with no chance of promotion. While the current job does include an office with a window, it has become increasingly hard to work for people I have no respect for. Opportunities have arisen that would allow me to leave and go to work at a company of my own with people I love working with within 4-6 months. Should I dedicate the extra 10-30 hours a week to the new company in order to leave my current hellish position?

I have been offered a position in another state, it would take over 3 hours of my life daily to commute. I cannot move there or even closer. The work pleasure/challenge would range from satisfying to not satisfying. I am currently unemployed, but currently have had a steady flow of freelance work coming in. The money would be a slight increase (I think an average increase from job to job is just under 10%?)

Should I do this? I hear all these nightmare stories about people buying boats. I live in NY on Long Island, and there is a wonderful marina down the road. But the cost....I'm not a rich man.

Will this make me happy?
